Project description
In this project, a framework is developed which is capable of storing, handling and providing access to large amounts of highly detailed data from constructions, built infrastructure, geographical data and infrastructure networks. This multi-resolution representation is based e.g. on city models (CityGML) and multiple Building Information Models (IFC) .The framework takes advantage of distributed data storage and parallel computing and is designed to put into practice a complete exploration and simulation pipeline, ranging from a multi-monitor or CAVE-based real-time visualization to multi-scale simulation scenarios such as flooding of urban regions. It allows coupling of the different simulations to be handled efficiently, and insight is gathered over all scales from the global flow behavior to the impact on single construction entities.
